Behind The Scenes
The Halle Building
1228 Euclid Ave
Cleveland, OH 44115
Having a night on the town and going to the theater is a glamorous experience. The audience seats themselves within gorgeous surroundings while enjoying well known shows that travel around the country for their viewing pleasure. Watching the shows most people envy the performers, thinking how amazing their life’s must be spending all their time in beautifully designed theaters such as the ones they are sitting in now, but one should never judge a playbill by it’s cover.
Behind the Scenes offers these amazingly talented artists to have a place to call home away from home for their short visiting experience. They are able to not be crowded or separated by hotels where they have to send out their laundry and find a lobby to relax and hangout. Instead they have their own rooms, common rooms, gym, movie theater, kitchen, practice rooms, and much more at their finger tips at Behind the Scenes.
This proposed project will bring more shows to Cleveland, revenue for the Halle Building, and a number one facility wanted and needed for the performing arts in the country. These artists will have a one of kind place to stay where they can relax, hang out, be a family together or enjoy time alone, while having the opportunity to explore the city while still in walking distance to their artistry talented jobs at the theaters in Playhouse Square.
Concept: Elements of A Dancer
Expression is reflected through the application of performance, depicted by rhythmic movements and extensions of the body. The body’s fluidity performs stories through a range of metrical, precise, and disciplined sequences. The musical compositions applied announce cultural history with a range of social experiences that strengthen the significance of community and interaction.
